Parragon Publishing India turned three recently and celebrated the occasion in true
Parragon-style on June 27, 2009 at the DLF Place Mall, Vasant Kunj, New Delhi.
The highlight was a gala Birthday Bash for kids in the earlier half of the evening.
It began with a storytelling session which was an immediate hit with the children
who participated enthusiastically with sound effects et al while they listened to
the story of a baby ghost who was afraid of other ghosts!
This was followed by a paint and draw competition. It was judged by renowned painter Sanjay Bhattacharyya
who also did a live demonstration with oil on canvas as he gave tips on drawing
to the kids. Susmit Sen of popular rock group Indian Ocean took over thereafter.
He encouraged the children to come up on stage and play and provided useful tips.
The music session ended with a scintillating performance by Susmit on his guitar
that held everyone spellbound and proved his reputation as one of the finest musicians
in the country today. Events were over, but not the party. For how can you have
a Birthday Party without the Birthday Cake? So out trooped the kids to the lawn
where the cake was waiting to be cut! A Lucky Draw was also held and a computer,
Playstation and Parragon book hamper were given out as prizes to the excited children.
Hungry after a busy evening, the children tucked into the delicious snacks before
leaving for home. And then… last but not the least, yet another surprise was in
store… shiny enticing gift-wrapped parcels of Parragon books were handed out to
the delighted young guests as return gifts so they fondly remember us and the lovely
evening for a long time to come. Children’s party over, it was time for the adults!
So dinner, dance and cocktails it was for a rocking end to a wonderful evening!
